American Jobs

Here we go.... I am going to ask two things from this post. First, please pick it apart. I want to know what's wrong with this idea, because I LOVE it. Second, if you cannot agree with it, please let me know why.

This is the latest newsletter from my congressman (and my favorite one on the Hill), The Honorable Mr. Steve King:

American Jobs Should Go To American Workers
Rep. Steve King

Speaking about America's unemployment problem on November 2, 2009, President Obama expressed a desire for new ideas on how to create good-paying jobs. The President stated that "if somebody can show me a strategy that's going to work, then we are happy to consider it."

I have introduced legislation that the President should be "happy to consider," right down to and including the bill's title - New IDEA. On September 16, 2009, I introduced H.R. 3580, the Illegal Deduction Elimination Act (New IDEA), which will immediately reduce America's unemployment and result in the hiring of millions of unemployed Americans. New IDEA will crack down on employers and illegal workers and level the playing field for law-abiding American employers and employees.

According to the Department of Labor, the December 2009 national unemployment rate in the United States was 10.0% and Iowa's unemployment rate was 6.6%. There are 15.3 million unemployed American citizens while the Pew Hispanic Center reports that eight million illegal aliens hold American jobs. In Iowa alone, there are 112,700 unemployed workers while 35,000 illegal aliens hold jobs.

It is inexcusable for American citizens and law abiding immigrants to be jobless while law-breaking illegal aliens hold American jobs. New IDEA clarifies that wages and benefits paid to illegal aliens are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. So if employers hire illegal workers, the wages and benefits paid to illegal workers will be denied as a business expense, resulting in taxable income for employers.

E-Verify is an online government system that enables employers to determine whether an employee is eligible to work in the U.S. E-Verify is currently a voluntary program that by law can only be used on new hires. New IDEA will make E-Verify permanent and authorize its use on all current and prospective employees.

Under New IDEA, employers that uses E-Verify will have "safe harbor." By using E-Verify to check the legal status of new hires, employers will not be punished if they mistakenly hire an illegal alien. Employers who fail to check their employees via E-Verify or ignore proof of an employee's illegal status will be subject to wage and benefit taxation, including interest and penalty on past taxes.

This system will level the playing field for employers that hire only legal workers, who are typically paid more than illegal workers. Under New IDEA, if employers are paying illegal workers $10 per hour and an IRS audit uncovers the violations, the tax liability plus interest and penalty may then cost employers $16 per hour. Removing the cost motivation associated with hiring illegal workers will result in millions of unemployed Americans going to work at newly vacated $10 per hour jobs for pay in the $12-$14 per hour range, or more. New IDEA requires the Internal Revenue Service to notify the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security of identity theft and immigration law violations. It also requires government agencies to work in cooperation with each other to enforce immigration laws.

New IDEA will also be a revenue raiser for the IRS. The bill will result in the IRS collecting interest, penalties and taxes, and newly hired legal workers will pay taxes, unlike the illegal workers they replace.

President Obama and liberals in Congress continue to promote amnesty while overlooking the impact that illegal workers have on American unemployment. Immigration laws protect American citizens, including legal immigrants, from losing jobs to those who have entered our country illegally. We must enforce our immigration laws and allow a sustainable number of legal immigrants into the country each year.

Our immigration policy must protect the interests of Americans citizens and those who played by the rules to legally enter the United States. Immigration law needs to be designed to enhance the economic, social and cultural well being of the Unites States. If President Obama is sincere about finding new and effective economic plans, he should immediately endorse New IDEA. Enforcing and strengthening our current immigration laws, through programs such as New IDEA, will put many unemployed citizens back to work and protect American workers.

Ever think about how you would want to come back if reincarnation is true? I know, God is real and I hope to be in his graces as much as you. If you are reading this and you don't believe, either have an open mind or you are in the wrong place. That being said, indulge me in a bit of fantasy here. When I come back, I want to be:

A farm dog.

My old dog worries about nothing. She is completely self sufficient when we go away for a few days. There are rabbits and squirrels around, and she knows how to catch them. She goes out and digs until she finds running water when the occasion calls for it, and she's perfectly happy sleeping under one of the cedar trees in the pasture if I forget to open the garage door.

On the other hand, she is spoiled by the kids and myself. She has a fantastic diet as far as dogs go (all the table food she can eat), and we give her a warm bed in the garage all winter. She can go off by herself without a care, and if something pisses her off, she can either leave (which is usual) or tear its head off (on occasion) without a care. In return for our favors, she licks our hands and snuggles up close when we are nearby.

Sure, at times, things are hard. She sleeps outside when the temps are too low sometimes. At times, she goes hungry for a day if she doesn't hunt, and the neighborhood mutts get to her dinner bowl before her. All in all however, she is the master of her life, and nobody tells her what to do or how to do it. She is allowed to keep all of her earnings (the hunt), and if someone tries to take it, she is free to bite.

As a society, I think we could learn a few things by watching our Best Friends in the country.

Until next time, keep your powder dry and your eyes open....

Welcome to the new year! Things I believe pt.I

Hey all! Thanks for stopping to take a look. I promise I am a fully warped yet functioning member of society. I hope (though I doubt) "Joe Sixpack" relates to this. 2010 starts off with me listing the First Principle of my beliefs...

Be Honest!

Truthfulness may not get you where you want to go, but it sure is easy to sleep when you call a spade what it is. If someone is a complete boar, don't just quit talking to them and make excuses for not attending their events. Simply say "I don't want to go" or if you are confronted, let them know why. You don't have to be mean. Just say, "I don't like your....(politics, attitude toward..., etc...). When people persist, I simply lay it out. Something like "I find you too be far too Socialist for my liking", or " You refuse to bring your kids up in a manner that will benefit society, and I can't have my kids near yours. Don't believe me? Try me...
An example: A certain part of my family gets together on holidays only. They all make believe they like each other for for the Matriarch. I can understand this. Really, , , but I can't be a part of it. The common denominator of this group is a near addiction to playing cards. When they start, there is nothing else to talk about. The only conversation is about the game. Why didn't you play this. I should have played that.... The story continues. If you don't play cards (which I actually LOVE) there is no inclusion. SO.....
I quit attending. When I was asked why, I let them know that I HATED the fact that nobody COMMUNICATED. It was a bore that I was not going to live with. Now when they have a get together, I intentionally spend time with my family talking and playing together. My relationship with that particular branch of the family has never been better.
Additionally, when I make a mistake at work or think someone has a bad way of doing things, I either admit to it, or tell them why the idea is bad. Political correctness be damned. We cannot change what is. That is the only unchangeable thing. The present...

Which finally brings me to my point.

Our government is completely, utterly lying to us yet the American populous ignores this fact. The anti gunners don't want to stop "assault" weapons (which by definition are already illegal). In case you didn't already know, an "assault" weapon is defined as a firearm with detachable magazine forward of the trigger assembly AND capable of BOTH fully automatic and semi-automatic fire. We haven't been able to buy ANYTHING with fully automatic fire without serious background checks, expense, and Federal knowledge since the early 20th century. Case closed on "assault weapons". What they really want is the disarmament of society. If they aren't big enough to tell us this HONESTLY, then everyone against and on the fence regarding the issue should say NO!!!! Be honest or you will get nowhere!

Same thing goes on the right. They will tell us they want our borders defended and then accept millions of dollars in campaign funding from the very companies that hire illegals. They REALLY only want the "redneck " vote.

Both sides call for transparent government as long as they don't have to be the ones showing their souls. I say TOO FUCKING BAD!

The fox should no longer be allowed to run the henhouse!

Admit that you are too complacent to attempt a difference, or stand up and defend a side. In my HONEST opinion, we have two classes of Americans. Sheeple and Activists. Make your decision now, biatch.

Until next time, keep your eyes open and your powder dry.

2010! Happy new year

Everyone, I mean everyone that reads here is wished a VERY happy, prosperous, and enlightened new year! It is my hope that I will have a lot to say here this year. I intend to blast the left and right equally and prodigiously. We all know that neither "side" has the betterment of America in its sights. It's all about power, and not our country and society.
I received an e-mail about the "Cloward-Piven" government today. I believe much of this theory is being practiced by the current administration. I also however, believe the last administration was complicit in this action. How else can the homeland security act and the TARP bailout be explained?
I am a believer that Clinton, ( yes, I choke on the name) was the last American President. I also believe he was a fluke. Either he was the least obvious "plan" president, or he was a mistake following the previous shrub.
We all know that Progressivism doesn't work (Rome), Socialism, Fascism, and Communism don't work (USSR, Germany, Italy, France, etc....). The way I see things, reality is what what we see and face. Realism works. It will be the theme here for the next year.

I intend to attack the following issues as well as whatever else becomes the flavor of the day in terms of what is REALITY:

Health Care
the "Green" thing
Economic takeover
Social sleepiness

I know, any of these could take a year to sort out. But, in reality, we have to look at them all NOW.

Until next time, keep your head high, your eyes open, and your powder dry! Here's to 2010!
